Farriers 2021 Leaders Info
The Farriers Challenge is back again for another great night challenge for Cub Scouts.
The Event: The Farriers Challenge is an event for Cubs, incorporating a wide variety of challenges and activities located around Selsley Common.
Start/finish: The event will start and end at the District Camp Site in Penn Wood.
Teams: Teams of 3 – 6 cubs, accompanied by a maximum of 2 leaders/adults.
All adults must have DBS clearance their membership number will be used to check their DBS.
Cost: The cost of the event is £7 per Cub and includes all activities and refreshments on the night. Leaders and helpers have no cost.
Times: The event starts from 4pm and all will finish by 12:30am. Your exact start times will be mailed to you nearer the event. Your Finish collection time will be approx. 30 minutes after the last checkpoint please only inform adults to come via a phone call at this point otherwise, they get grumpy waiting around and clog up the parking.
Winners: At each activity the teams will be awarded points, and these, along with the team’s overall time to complete the event will be used to calculate who has won. Adults are there to help not to take over on the challenges.

We are expecting a high take up. Teams will be allocated places on a first come first served basis. After the pre district date we will be looking to fill the event, if there are still places, by inviting neighbouring Districts.

Stage 1 – Sign up and make a booking [you can make multiple bookings]
Stage 2 – Pay the invoice to guarantee your place [no money no place, this is different to previous years]
Stage 3 – When payment is received your places become unlocked and you add your young people.
Stage 4 – Parents receive the health forms email and fill it out.
Stage 5 – You allocate your teams.
Stage 6 – You get a start time allocated.
Stage 7 – You have awesome fun at the event.
