The Stomp 2021 Parent Information

The Stomp is back again for another great night challenge for Scout & Explorers.

The Event:              The Stomp is an event for Scouts & Explorers, incorporating a wide variety of challenges and activities located around Selsley Common.

Start/finish:           The event will start and end at the District Camp Site in Penn Wood.

Teams:                     Teams of 3 – 6 Scouts/Explorers, younger teams can be accompanied by a maximum of 2 leaders/adults. Althought Navigation is part of the challenge.    

Cost:                          The cost of the event is £7 per Scout/Explorer and includes all activities and refreshments on the night. Leaders and helpers have no cost.

Times:                       The event starts from 4pm and all will finish by 2am. Exact times will

Your exact start times will be mailed to you nearer the event. Your Finish collection time will be approx. 30 minutes after the last checkpoint please only inform adults to come via a phone call at this point otherwise, they get grumpy waiting around!

Winners:                 At each activity the teams will be awarded points, and these, along with the team’s overall time to complete the event will be used to calculate who has won. Adults are there to help not to take over on the challenges.

The Farriers Challenge is organised by the Stroud & Tetbury District Explorer Activity Support Team for members of the Cub Scout section in the Stroud & Tetbury District. All aspects of this event will be run in accordance with POR and best practise, as recommended in HQ fact sheets, will be followed.  A full set of risk assessments will be undertaken for the event.  These, along with the operating procedures will be made available to all leaders on the day of the event.
